So Excited!

Hi, my name is Suzanne and I am just so excited and honoured to have been asked by Bonnie and Erika to be a Guest Designer today.  Thank you so much.

I have been given the most gorgeous ribbons to create with and I can say it isn't difficult to come up with a creation when I have such wonderful product to work with.

I adore ribbons, lace and all things girly.  One of my passions is to create my very own flowers, of which I create many.  Actually I have so many flowers I don't know if I will ever be able to use them all.  I love creating flowers with paper, ribbon, button, pearls, inks, embossing all manner of things.

Anyhoo, I guess that is enough about what I love.  I have created four projects for you today.  I was asked to create 3 but I just couldn't resist creating the fourth with this beautiful ribbon..

My first project is a tag.  I adore tags, my favourite thing to create.  I have used a red organza ribbon.  Isn't it stunning and it sets my tag off beautifully.

My second project is a card which I have used two different organza ribbons, just stunning I must say.

My third project to show you is....

OK, so there are three of my projects.  For all the deets and the last  project pop on over to my blog here.

Thanks for stopping by and again thank you Bonnie and Erika.

Silk Bows & Sweet Birds!

Hello! I have a little card for you today using some more of the wonderful hand dyed silk ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store! This Rusty Bucket hand dyed silk is just so rich looking! I thought it would be the prefect touch with this DP from Prima, and small roses from Zva Creative! To give it a little added touch, I added an antique brad in the center of my bow!

The sketch for this card is from this week's Midnight Madness Sketch challenge. The image is from the Home Tweet Home set from Flourishes. I stamped it with Memento black ink and colored it with copic markers. Then to finish off the image, I sponged the background with some baja breeze ink.

Thank you so much for visiting today! To see more projects with Ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store, you can head over to my blog!

Whew ... just made it!

I was about to upload these pics for my Tuesday post when the camera battery died on me, so I had to wait for the recharge and now I'm running late ... sorry!
Anyway, here I am now!
I thought I'd share some relatively simple cards today to show how easy it is to bring life to a card with the wonderful ribbons in the shop here.  I also love to take a patterned ribbon as a focal point, e.g. the cute bees, and co-ordinate cardstock and a sentiment with it, and sometimes even a sticker, again like the bees on the card below.  I'm not a great fan of stickers usually, but when I see something that I think may be handy some day (and in a hurry, with no time to do a lot of stamping and coloring), I pick them up and the day comes, like today, when they're just the right addition to what I'm working on.
The background in this wedding card is made with chalk rubbed onto the cardfront with a cotton ball.  Pretty easy, and the result is a subtle and soft look.
This one is really quick and easy, again using gorgeous ladybug ribbon.  The little wooden ladybugs are easy to find in craft or dollar stores.

And last but not least, the bees!  So cute, aren't they?  This is a card and a bookmark.  The top fold allows for the card to be placed over the top pages of a book.  Again, my sticker stash came in handy!  The ribbon is sandwiched between the back yellow layer and the black layer of card.
I hope you were inspired by these ideas!

Hand Dyed Silks and Weddings

Monday morning and the beginning of another week. Hi Everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a few projects I've created using some of my favorite ribbons out there. Every day I go to the Really Reasonable Ribbon store and ogle over all the beautiful textures and colors of ribbon. Right now I'm all about the pinks, probably because I'm patiently waiting for those spring flowers to start popping out of the ground. But there are a bunch of great ribbons that I see following some Spring trends too.

This first layout is of our daughter on her "birth"day . For the ribbon treatment, I used the 5/8" Rusty Bucket Hand Dyed Silk. I love how the silk wraps around the twigs on the left and each fairy is holding an end. I also pleated the ribbon on the bottom of the picture and the tied bow on the right side too. I truly love the hand dyed silk ribbon and I've just gotta get more of it. It pleats so beautifully and is very easy to work with.

Next I have a card I created using the 1" China Doll Hand Dyed Silk Ribbon in a twist pleat. Isn't the dimension in this fantastic???

And lastly today, a card using one of the most elegant ribbons available at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store. The 1.5" White Pleated Satin (glimmer misted in Silver) is perfect for the upcoming wedding season and I've paired it with a little Danielle White Lace. Grey is a huge trend this season and I love how a little white makes it POP.

Well, that is it for me today. I hope that you all are having a fantastic Monday. Thank you so much for leaving comments on the RRR blog, we all appreciate your thoughts. Until next time....

Erika Taylor

That faint diamond pattern is just so attractive! And the same ribbon is available over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Shop in 17 absolutely beautiful colors as well a Pastel Diamond Satin Assortment and a new Bright Diamond Satin Assortment.

Some Birdy Loves You Gift Set!

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to all! Today's gift set was decorated with Really Reasonable Ribbon's Pink Polka Dots found HERE :) LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

I decorated a gift box my mom brought me, and then made a treat bag, and a card to match. All birds are cut from the Cricut, tag is from Quickutz. Ribbon is DOTS found here. I also added some flowers, gems and a stick pin.
 Treat bag-
First I made the treat bag with heavy design paper.  I cut it 4 1/4 x 10 1/2 and then scored in the middle at 5 1/4 using the Scor-pal, then 1/2 inch on each side of that(would be 5 3/4",4 3 /4"), then folded the middle up, and the other 2 scores down. For the top fold I used a SU! die, but you can use any shape you like.  For the inside I put a package of mixed nuts but you can use candies or whatever :) Have fun!!!
Measures 5 x 5

Don't forget Bonnie is doing a DT Call and you can find all details here!  If you LOVE Ribbon you will want to apply ) Good luck to all!!

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!

Ribbon Flowers made with Glubers - Tutorial!!

Hello, I am really excited to show this wonderful new product from Cosmo Cricket called Glubers! They have just been added to the Really Reasonable Ribbon store, and you are gonna want these!! I first saw these when I was a CHA this winter and LOVED them!

Basically, they are very large thin glue dots, that you can make your own sticker out of! You can see in this picture, I have made three different flowers with the three different sizes offered in this package! The Twisted Rose flower was made with some 1.5" Pink Wrinkled Ribbon. The Ruffly Roes was created with Chocolate and Rose Silk Hand Dyed Ribbon, and the Ruffled Rose was created with some Plaid Red Ruffled ribbon!

I have added the pink and brown ruffly flower to my card for today! I have paired it with a wonderful verse from the Scripture Collection 5 set from Our Daily Bread Designs, and the DP is from Prima!

Want to know how I made all of these? Well I have attached three video tutorials for your viewing pleasure (please be kind...these are my first ever video tutorials, LOL!) Enjoy!

One more note:  Our friends over at PSA Essentials are featuring their Licensed Peel & Stick Designs all week! They will also be giving away some blog candy on Saturday, 3/26.  We had lots of fun with them on our 'Love' Blog Hop in February, so be sure to take a peek this week.  They would love to have you stop by!

Unravelling ...

This chair digi stamp from Whimsie Doodles is one of my favorite 'go to' images at the moment.  There are so many great sentiments that can go with it.  And of course, the Really Reasonable Ribbon Baker's Twine is wonderful and comes in so many colors.

I made the knitting needles out of toothpicks sponged with silver paint, with silver beads on the ends, and knitted a few rows with the Baker's Twine.  The chair was printed and folded in half, then cut out with an Xacto knife.  (The fold is on the top line of the card.)  Then came the stamping and coloring of the legs with black marker.  I love the way it stands up, don't you?  This is the sentiment printed inside:
It was fun to make and not half as complicated as it looks either.

Newsprint and Silk. ;)

Hi Everyone!
True :D  here.

First I would like to remind everyone that we have a design team call going on right now and would love to have any of you that would like to get lots of beautiful ribbon in the mail every month apply! We are looking for scrap-bookers, card-makers, altered artists, jewelry crafters, quilters, fabric artists... pretty much anyone who does any crafts with ribbon. ;) For all of the DT call info, click HERE.
We also have a fun "One For The Boys" challenge going on now! :)
Now...on to my card.
This is not the card I planned on posting today but plans change sometimes. ;)
The challenge over @ SplitCoast Stampers today is "Newsworthy". We were asked to use newspaper on our project. Not my normal medium but I gave it a shot and I am so glad I did!
Quite the contrast with that old newspaper and the beautiful Mossy Rock Hand-dyed Silk from Really Reasonable Ribbon, but I think it added just the class it needed! :)

The crossword puzzle was just the right size for a card. I know the words don't fit "up and down" but I was happy that they fit across anyhow! ;)
I made the roses by twisting strips of newspaper and making "rose" circles on round pieces of cardstock that I covered with Scor-Tape. I then sprayed them with a couple colors of Glimmer Mist as well as the outer edges of the puzzle. I lucked out and there was an article in the paper that was in a green background so I used it for the leaves and just hit them with a little green ColorBox ink to make it match my ribbon better. I added some pearls and a fancy vintage brad to add a little more class. ;)

I would so love to hear what you think about the "outside of the box" style that I used today!

Big hugs,

A New Love Found!!!! WooooHoooooo!!!

A very happy Sunday to all of you! Thank you so much for rambling along with us today! Gosh there are so many things happening at RRR this month that I hope you are keeping up with all of them! I'm sure you enjoyed the Organization Days...and then Challenges and a fun Hop...and a DT just ramble around this blog and you will see all kinds of fun, new, interesting things!

Although I made these little cards a little while back I just wanted to show you my NEW LOVE at the RRR Shop!! And I had to have it in all colors!!! It is the Satin with Grosgrain Edge!!! and you will see that is is available in beautiful colors and several widths! I can assure you that it makes exceptional bows when used with the Bow Easy Tool.

For this card I used the 7/8" Red Satin with Grosgrain Edge and made two loops around the Bow Easy Tool for my bows. This ribbon is double faced so it is very easy to tie an exceptional bow with it. I think you will be able to see in the picture how much body this ribbon has....LOVE IT!!!!

For this card I used the same ribbon but this time it is the 7/8" Pink Satin with Grosgrain Edge and fashioned it into what I hoped would look like a picture hanger. This ribbon is so substantial and has such a gorgeous sheen and I think quite elegant when placed on cards, LOs, etc. Can you tell what I think of it???? lol

Thank you so much for dropping by to the RRR Ramblers' hangout and we hope you will come back and see us everyday or whenever you can!!! Sending a hug your way from Jacque!!
